International Chat With People Around the World
Want to chat with people in another country without waiting for a random partner? WAB2 lets adults search member profiles by country and communication language, then choose whom to contact. Start with a shared interest and ask about the person, not just the place they live.
Create a free account to browse members and send core text messages. No mutual like is required, but contact settings and account limits still apply. A country in the search list is not a promise of matching members online or an immediate reply.

How to Find Someone in Another Country
After signing in, open Search, then Filter:
- Under Where to search, choose a country from the available list. Regions are available for some locations. Leave location unrestricted if you would rather discover people anywhere.
- Select a communication language you can write in. You can choose up to five; a profile can match any one of the selected languages.
- Set Activity status to Online only or Recently online only if timing matters. Choose All users if you are comfortable leaving a message to be read later.
- Open a profile, check its introduction and stated purpose, then write where messaging is available.
Country and language are member-provided information, not verified nationality, current location or fluency. If your search is empty, widen the location or activity filter while keeping a language you share. Trying later may help, but a particular country's availability is not guaranteed.
For a country-focused starting point, see the guides for Australia, Canada or the UK. These explain member search and invitation-based rooms; they are not public country chat lobbies.

Start With Everyday Life, Not Assumptions
An international chat can begin with the same interests as any other conversation. If someone mentions growing vegetables, ask what they enjoy growing. If their profile mentions a sport you follow, ask how they got interested. Geography can add context without making the person a representative of an entire country.
For example: “You mentioned cycling to work. I ride on weekends, but traffic puts me off commuting. How did you get started?” Share a little of your own experience and let the other person decide what to tell you.
Avoid questions that presume someone's religion, politics, income or family life from their country. Read the introduction before sending a generic greeting. If you do not have a geographic preference, meeting new people online is a broader starting point.
Make a Shared Language Easier to Use
A communication-language setting helps you find a starting point; it does not promise equal fluency. Keep the first message short, ask one question and explain slang if it causes confusion. “By 'a quiet weekend,' I mean staying home rather than going out” is clearer than repeating a phrase the other person does not understand.
Ask whether someone wants corrections before treating the exchange as language practice. If you use an outside translation tool, leave personal details out and consider whether the other person would want their message copied there. The text chat guide explains the written, no-camera format.
Allow for Time Zones and Delayed Replies
Someone in another country may be asleep, working or away from the site when you write. Even an online status is not a promise that they can stop and talk. Send a message that still makes sense later rather than “Are you there?” followed by repeated requests for attention.
You can return to a written conversation when both of you have time. If contact settings, Ignore or an account-age restriction prevent messaging, respect that boundary. Limits on starting many new conversations also apply; the international search does not bypass them.
Keep Cross-Border Contact on Your Terms
A worldwide conversation does not require exchanging phone numbers, social accounts or travel plans. Keep your address, passwords, account codes and identity documents private. Never send money, gift cards, visa fees or investment funds to someone you know only online. An urgent story does not make a payment request trustworthy.
Stop and use Ignore or Report if someone pressures, threatens or harasses you. Read the chat safety guide for more ways to protect your information.
A first cross-border exchange can be worthwhile on its own. If a conversation becomes regular and you want to keep it going, the international friendship guide covers that longer-term goal. For other ways to use WAB2, return to the chat guide.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I choose which country to chat with?
Yes. After registration, use Where to search in the Search filter to choose from the available countries and regions. Results use member-provided location; profiles or active members in a particular country are not guaranteed.
Is international chat free on WAB2?
Registration, member search and core text messages are free. You need an account, and contact settings and limits on new conversations still apply. Optional Premium and credit-based features are separate.
Can I search for people who use my language?
Yes. The Search filter lets you select up to five communication languages. A profile can match any one of your selections. These are languages members list, not proof of fluency or a promise that every message will be understood.
Will I be paired with someone automatically?
No. You choose a profile and send a direct text message where contact settings allow it. There is no random partner assignment or mutual-like requirement, and the recipient decides whether and when to reply.
