Meet People in the UK and Make Room for Friendship
If you want to make friends in the UK, a conversation can start with a person rather than a busy public room. On WAB2, adults choose member profiles and exchange direct text messages. Groups are member-created rooms entered with a six-digit invitation key, not a public directory of UK city chats.
Create a free account for search and core messaging, then select the United Kingdom as your location preference. No mutual like is required, but contact settings and anti-spam limits can restrict new messages. Friendship and replies depend on both people choosing to participate.

Profiles listing the UK and English: 101
This summary uses member-provided country and language settings. It is not an online count, a room-member count or verification of current location or language fluency.
Search the Whole UK or an Available Region
After signing in, open Search, then Filter. Under Where to search, choose United Kingdom and then All of United Kingdom, or a region offered by the picker. The available choices include London, North West and West Midlands. They are region filters, not a map of people closest to your address.
The regional list does not cover every part of the UK individually. If your area is absent, choose the whole country rather than selecting an unrelated region. Start broadly if a nearby person is not essential; narrowing several filters at once may leave no matching profiles.
The country summary on this page uses eligible profiles with the United Kingdom selected and English listed as a communication language. It does not verify nationality, residence or fluency, and it is not an online count. Full search lets you set your own language and other preferences after registration.
Be Clear About Friendship Without Assuming Everyone Wants It
Choose For Chatting under Purpose and explain what friendly conversation means to you. For example: “Here for platonic conversation about music and getting back into swimming.” This offers a subject without publishing a timetable or exact location.
Read the other person's introduction too. Members can have different aims, including meeting up, and the filter is not a friendship-only or non-dating guarantee. An interest gives you a reason to write; living in the same country does not create an obligation to answer or meet.

Let a Local Conversation Stay Online
A UK search does not need to lead to an offline meeting. You can exchange recommendations, discuss a hobby and return another day without giving out a phone number. Activity status records a visit, not a promise that the person can chat at that moment.
If you want to find a familiar profile again, add it to Contacts. That is your saved list, not a mutual friendship request. Both people still choose whether to continue. The one-to-one chat guide explains how a direct conversation works.
A UK Search Does Not Create a UK-Only Room
When several people want a shared discussion, create a room or enter one with its current six-digit key. Every participant needs an account. A room has no automatic UK-only membership rule just because you found someone through a country search.
Share the key with intended participants and avoid posting sensitive details: new members can read available earlier group messages. The group-chat guide covers invitations and owner controls. If you want people beyond a UK location preference, use international chat.
Free Access and Controls for Unwanted Contact
Basic member search, core text messages and creating or joining rooms do not require Premium. Optional paid extras are separate. Read and respect a restriction if the site says you cannot message a particular member.
Keep passwords, account codes and financial information private; never send money to an online contact. Add to ignore stops direct contact. Profile Report is available after 14 full days of account age, while Contact is another route for an abuse concern when Report is unavailable. The safer chat guide explains precautions, including decisions about meeting.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I look for people in a particular part of the UK?
Yes, where a region is offered in Search. Choose United Kingdom under Where to search, then a listed region or the whole country. The regional list is not exhaustive, and profile information does not verify current location or proximity.
Is everyone looking for friendship rather than dating?
No. Members have different purposes. Choose For Chatting, say that you want platonic conversation and read introductions. The setting does not guarantee that every person shares your intentions.
Are there public UK city chat rooms?
No. WAB2 does not have a public city-room directory. Members create rooms and share six-digit invitation keys; an account and valid key are needed to join. Country search is a separate feature.
Must I live in the UK to use this page?
No. WAB2 is international. You can create a free account and choose the UK as your search preference from elsewhere. Contact settings, account limits and each person's choice to reply still apply.
