Chat for Conversation

Online Chat Rooms for Invited Group Conversations

WAB2 has member-created online chat rooms for adults. Each room has a name, shared text messages and a six-digit invitation code. Create a free account, then join a room with a code someone has shared with you, or start a room and invite other members.

There is no public directory of open themed rooms. If you want to meet someone new before joining a group, you can browse member profiles after registering and choose someone to message individually.

Choose a Group Room or an Individual Conversation

A room brings several members into the same conversation. It can keep a discussion about a shared hobby or a small circle of friends together. Everyone with access to the room can read the available shared messages, so a reply there is a message to the group.

For a conversation with just one person, open their profile and use direct messaging instead. You do not need a mutual match, but the recipient's message settings can limit who may contact them. See one-to-one text chat for that format, or talk to strangers online if you are looking for a new person to approach.

How to Join an Online Chat Room

  1. Sign in to your WAB2 account and open Rooms.
  2. Choose Enter a room and enter the current six-digit room key supplied by another member.
  3. Open the room, read the recent conversation and add a message that fits the discussion.

You need a valid code for that particular room. If the key no longer works, ask the person who invited you for the current one. A room name or a person's online status does not provide access by itself.

Create a Room for People You Want to Invite

From Rooms, choose Create a room and give it a name. Share its invitation code with the members you want to join. A simple name such as a book group or a weekly catch-up helps participants understand why they were invited; you can explain the topic in your first message.

For example: “This room is for our weekend reading recommendations. What did you finish this week?” You can return to the same discussion later without arranging a video call. For more on setting up and managing a shared conversation, read group chat online.

Who Can Read the Room History?

Room members can read the recent shared history, including available messages posted before they joined. An invitation code controls entry; it does not make messages confidential between two people. Share the code carefully and avoid posting anything you would not want another room member to copy.

Do not share passwords, financial details, identity documents, home addresses or someone else's private information. Use a direct conversation for a message intended for one member, and keep the same care with personal details there. The chat safety guide explains warning signs and reporting options.

Leaving and Managing a Room

Members can leave a room they do not own. The owner can rename or delete the room, block a member, or replace its invitation key. Replacing the key removes the other members, who need the new code to join again; it does not undo anything they have already read or saved.

Registration, creating a room and joining with a valid code are free. Optional paid features are separate; see what is included in free online chat for the wider account features.
