Chat for Conversation

Private Chat Online With Clear Contact and Data Boundaries

When comparing private chat sites, ask two different questions: who can join your conversation, and what information the service still handles. On WAB2, direct messages are for the participating accounts, not a public discussion or a shared room. The service nevertheless processes account and message data.

You need a free account for member search and direct messaging. Core text chat does not require Premium. Contact settings and anti-spam limits apply, and nobody is required to answer. You can decide how much to share and whether to continue an exchange.

Private chat depends on clear audience, careful sharing, contact controls, and realistic expectations.

A Direct Conversation Is Not Your Public Profile

Another ordinary member cannot join your direct conversation as they would join a group. A one-on-one chat keeps its audience separate from rooms. That does not prevent the recipient from taking a screenshot, saving an attachment or repeating something you wrote.

Your profile has a different audience from your messages. Review both Name and Nickname, since both can appear on a profile. Your email address is not shown to other members, although its verification status is. For using non-identifying profile labels, see the anonymous-chat guide; this page is about message access and data, not an anonymity guarantee.

Choose Who Can Exchange Messages With You

Open Protection after signing in and review Who can exchange messages with me? The Only users in my contacts option works both ways: you also need to add someone to your Contacts before writing to them. Contacts is your saved list, not a mutual friendship or identity check.

Other preferences can limit new contact using profile selections or account age. Mutual contacts can exchange messages despite those preference restrictions, but Ignore rules still take priority. Read the explanation displayed when a message is not allowed rather than assuming that viewing a profile gives you access to its owner.

Ignore Stops Contact Rather Than Erasing History

Use Add to ignore on a person's profile to stop direct messaging in both directions. It also removes that profile from your Contacts. It does not delete messages already exchanged or recall copies the other person saved.

If behaviour needs review, Report becomes available after your account is 14 full days old. Use Contact for help if reporting is not available. The safer chat checklist covers pressure, scams and information you should keep private.

A Recent History Window Is Not a Deletion Timer

The conversation view displays available messages from the last 30 days. That is a limit on what the view shows, not a promise that every older record has been erased. WAB2 processes messages, contacts, reports and technical records to deliver and operate the service, prevent abuse and handle moderation.

The Privacy Policy explains data handling and retention, including records that can remain in logs or backups. Direct messaging is not an end-to-end encryption promise or a disappearing-message feature. Do not send sensitive information because you expect the service to forget it after a particular number of days.

Know What Removing a File Changes

Private-chat attachments require both participants to enable Allow files in private chats in Protection. Supported types and upload limits still apply. Either participant can use the file controls to remove a shared attachment from the chat on the site.

Removing a file is not instant erasure of every service record or retained copy, and it cannot delete a download from another device. Share only material you are comfortable giving that person, and decline unexpected requests for documents or private photographs.

Account Deactivation and Data Requests Are Different

The in-site Delete account action is reversible deactivation: it hides the profile and disables chat actions while retaining account data for restoration. For a permanent-erasure request or a privacy question, use Contact. Some records may still need to be retained under the conditions described in the Privacy Policy.

Knowing the audience and the controls lets you make a clearer choice before sharing. For other ways to use WAB2, return to the chat guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can another ordinary member join my direct conversation?

No. Direct messages are for their participating accounts, not a shared room. A recipient can still copy what you send, and the service processes message data under its Privacy Policy.

Does the 30-day history window mean messages are erased?

No. It describes the available conversation view, not a guarantee that all underlying records, logs, backups or copies have been deleted. WAB2 handles retention under its Privacy Policy.

Does Ignore delete the conversation?

No. Add to ignore stops direct messaging in both directions and removes the person from your Contacts. It does not erase earlier messages or material another person already saved.

Does Delete account permanently erase all my data?

No. The in-site action is reversible deactivation. Use Contact to request permanent erasure; messages or other records may still be retained under the conditions in the Privacy Policy.
