What Changes When Nobody Is Assigned to You?
Here, roulette means a format that assigns the next partner for you. WAB2 replaces that assignment with a choice you make before writing:
- Read before contacting. A profile's introduction, listed language and stated purpose give you something to consider. The information is member-provided, not proof of identity or compatibility.
- Start with text, not a live camera connection. You can compose a message without showing your face or surroundings. WAB2 does not provide live video roulette.
- Leave room for a later answer. You are messaging a chosen member, not entering a session with someone automatically connected to you. An activity label records a visit, not readiness to reply.
That trade-off matters. Profile choice gives you context, but it also asks you to do the choosing. If your main goal is an automatically assigned live partner, this is not the same experience under a different name.
From a Profile to a First Conversation
After signing in, choose a communication language and read a few introductions. Pick one detail you would genuinely like to discuss. A profile that mentions learning guitar might prompt: “I'm working through my first songs too. Which one have you most enjoyed learning?”
You can decide not to contact someone whose goals do not fit yours. A friendly profile does not mean the member wants romance, advice requests or private questions, so explain your purpose and respect their boundaries.

Free access does not remove contact restrictions. Ignore, contacts-only settings, account-age preferences and limits on starting many new conversations can prevent a message. Do not repeatedly try to reach someone who has not answered or whose settings do not allow contact.
More Context Is Not a Safety Guarantee
Reading an introduction helps you decide what to ask; it does not verify the person behind it. Keep passwords, account codes, your address and financial details private. Do not send money to an online contact. You can stop replying and use Ignore or Report if someone pressures or harasses you.
