Chat for Conversation

Talk to People Online With a Clear Starting Point

Talking to people online starts with a choice: who would you enjoy hearing from, and what would you like to share? On WAB2, adults use member profiles to make that choice rather than being assigned a partner. You can look for conversation in a language you share, about an interest or with a particular purpose in mind.

Create a free account to use search and core text messaging. No swipe or mutual like is required, but contact settings and anti-spam limits can prevent a new message. Each person decides whether and when to reply.

Start With the Kind of Conversation You Want

You might want to exchange opinions, talk about a shared hobby or get to know someone gradually. Put that purpose into a short introduction of your own. “Here to talk about music and everyday life” gives another person more context than an empty profile, without requiring your address or private history.

If you want platonic conversation, say so. Other members can have different goals, including meeting up, and a friendly message is not automatically a romantic invitation. You can decide that a profile is not a fit without trying to change its owner's intentions.

Turn That Choice Into a Search

After signing in, open Search, then Filter:

  1. Choose a communication language you are comfortable writing in. This matches information members list, not verified fluency or automatic translation.
  2. Choose For Chatting under Purpose if conversation is your aim. For Meeting Up is a separate option; neither setting guarantees compatible intentions.
  3. Add country, region or age preferences only if they matter to you. Open an introduction and decide whether you have a reason to contact that person.

If results are too narrow, remove an optional filter rather than assuming the service can supply any combination. For a fuller explanation of discovery filters, see finding new people online.

Choose a Person Without Waiting for a Match

An introduction can tell you what the member enjoys discussing and what contact they welcome. Read that context before choosing to write. You do not need to contact everyone who appears in search, and a profile picture is not proof of identity.

There is no mutual-like gate, but there are boundaries. Either person's protection settings, Ignore, contacts-only preferences or restrictions on new accounts can affect contact. WAB2 also limits rapid outreach to new recipients. A blocked message is not a request to try another route.

Activity status describes recorded visits, not a commitment to chat now. Send a considerate invitation and allow a later answer instead of treating online presence as an appointment.

Give Your Message the Right Audience

A direct conversation is the route for a message addressed to one member. The one-to-one text chat guide explains that format. A shared discussion with invited members belongs in a room; the group-chat guide explains account access and six-digit invitation keys.

You can keep a conversation on WAB2 without exchanging phone numbers or moving to another service. If both people want to continue, Contacts can help you find a profile again. It is your saved list, not a mutual friendship request or a promise of future contact.

Keep the Choice Yours

You can decline a topic, pause or end an exchange. Keep account codes, passwords, financial information and identifying documents private, and never send money to an online contact. Use Ignore to stop direct contact; use Report when available, or Contact if you need to raise a concern and cannot use that control.

The safer chat guide explains precautions. To choose another way through the site, return to the WAB2 chat guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an account to talk to people on WAB2?

Yes. A free account is required for member search and core text messaging. Those functions do not require Premium, although contact settings and anti-spam limits still apply.

Can I choose a language or country?

Yes. Search includes communication languages and available countries or regions, alongside age, purpose and activity filters. These use member-provided information, and suitable profiles or replies are not guaranteed.

Do both people need to like each other before messaging?

No. There is no mutual-like requirement. You choose a profile and can send a message where both people's contact settings and account limits allow it. The recipient chooses whether to answer.

Can I talk to a group instead of one person?

Yes. WAB2 has member-created rooms for shared discussion. You need an account and a valid six-digit invitation key to join a room; there is no public room directory. Direct messages remain a separate option.
